Caregiver burnout is a real thing. Having a job you love and also having family and friends you also love very much; you don't have much time to love yourself. It's a lot of giving all day long and no time to give to yourself. This creates exhaustion and stress and doing this day in and day out for too long can start creating physical problems as well. I have personally experienced this many times and although taking a day here and there for myself was great, those days for myself actually turned into days to catch up on chores. I have now realized the importance of taking care of myself and that it doesn't have to be a full day to myself to feel better. Even just an hour or 2 to relax and self-reflect can make a huge difference. Honestly that can also be hard to do every day but at least a couple times per week to give to yourself will help you find the joy in life again.
